Cara Cara Yogurt Bowl - Bright, Creamy, and Refreshing

Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes
Servings: 2 servings

Ingredients

  • Cara Cara oranges (1–2, depending on size)
  • Plain Greek yogurt (or skyr, 3/4–1 cup)
  • Honey or maple syrup (1–2 teaspoons)
  • Granola or toasted oats (1/4 cup)
  • Almonds or pistachios, chopped (1–2 tablespoons)
  • Chia seeds or flaxseeds (1 teaspoon)
  • Fresh mint (optional, a few leaves)
  • Ground cinnamon or cardamom (a pinch, optional)
  • Vanilla extract (1/4 teaspoon, optional)
  • Sea salt (a tiny pinch to enhance flavor)

Method

  1. Prep the oranges: Slice off the tops and bottoms. Stand each orange upright and carefully cut away the peel and pith. Segment the orange by cutting between the membranes, or slice into thin rounds if you prefer.
  2. Sweeten the yogurt: In a bowl, stir the yogurt with honey or maple and the vanilla extract. Add a tiny pinch of sea salt to brighten the flavors.
  3. Assemble the base: Spoon the yogurt into a shallow bowl so toppings stay visible and evenly spread.
  4. Add citrus: Arrange the Cara Cara segments or slices on top of the yogurt. Let some of the juices run into the yogurt for extra flavor.
  5. Layer on the crunch: Sprinkle granola and chopped nuts over the fruit. Add chia or flax for a nutrient boost.
  6. Finish with flair: Drizzle a little extra honey if you like. Dust with cinnamon or cardamom, and add torn mint leaves for a fresh, herbal note.
  7. Serve right away: Enjoy immediately while the granola is still crisp.
