Cinnamon Apple Yogurt Crunch - A Cozy, Crisp-and-Creamy Snack

Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes
Servings: 2 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (2% or whole milk for extra creaminess; use dairy-free if preferred)
  • 1 medium apple (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Gala for sweetness; Granny Smith for tartness)
  • 1–2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional but lovely)
  • Pinch of salt (enhances flavor)
  • 1/3 cup granola or toasted nuts (almonds, pecans, or walnuts work well)
  • 1 tablespoon raisins or dried cranberries (optional for extra sweetness)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (to keep apples bright if prepping ahead)
  • Small knob of butter or a teaspoon of coconut oil (optional, if you want lightly sautéed apples)

Method

  1. Prep the apple: Core and dice the apple into small cubes. If you’re not using it immediately, toss with lemon juice to prevent browning.
  2. Flavor the yogurt: In a bowl, stir together the Greek yogurt, honey or maple syrup, cinnamon, vanilla, and a pinch of salt until smooth and lightly speckled.
  3. Choose your apple style: For a fresh, crisp version, keep the apples raw. For a cozy twist, warm a small skillet with butter or coconut oil, add the apples and a pinch of cinnamon, and sauté 2–3 minutes until just tender. Let cool slightly.
  4. Assemble the layers: Spoon half the yogurt into a glass or bowl. Add half the apples, a sprinkle of granola or nuts, and a few raisins if using. Repeat the layers.
  5. Finish and adjust: Drizzle with a tiny bit more honey if you like. Add a light dusting of cinnamon on top for a pretty finish.
  6. Serve right away: Enjoy immediately for maximum crunch, or see storage tips if packing it to go.
