Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes
Servings: 2 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 large frozen banana, sliced
  • 1/2 cup frozen cauliflower rice (optional, for extra creaminess and fiber)
  • 3/4 cup vanilla Greek yogurt (or dairy-free vanilla yogurt)
  • 3/4 cup milk of choice (almond, oat, dairy, or coconut)
  • 1–2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon almond extract (optional but recommended for “cake” flavor)
  • 1–2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon cashew butter or almond butter (optional for richness)
  • 1–2 tablespoons rolled oats (optional for thickness)
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (optional)
  • 1–2 tablespoons rainbow sprinkles (look for “jimmies” style; use naturally dyed if preferred), plus extra for topping
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Ice cubes as needed (3–5) for thickness

Method

  1. Prep your base: Add the frozen banana, cauliflower rice (if using), yogurt, and milk to the blender.
  2. Build the cake flavor: Add vanilla extract, almond extract, sweetener of choice, and a pinch of salt. These are key to the birthday-cake taste.
  3. Boost the texture: Add cashew or almond butter and rolled oats if you like a thicker, creamier smoothie. Include protein powder if desired.
  4. Blend until smooth: Start on low, then increase to high for 30–60 seconds. Add a few ice cubes if you want it frosty and thicker.
  5. Fold in sprinkles: Pulse the blender 1–2 times or stir them in by hand. Don’t over-blend or the colors may bleed.
  6. Taste and adjust: Add more milk to thin or more ice to thicken. Adjust sweetness to your preference.
  7. Serve: Pour into a chilled glass and top with extra sprinkles. Enjoy right away.
