Guava Yogurt Smoothie - Bright, Creamy, and Naturally Sweet

Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes
Servings: 2 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe guavas (pink or white), chopped, seeds optional
  • 3/4 cup plain or vanilla yogurt (Greek or regular)
  • 1/2 cup milk or a dairy-free milk (almond, oat, or coconut)
  • 1 small ripe banana, sliced (for creaminess; optional)
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons honey or agave, to taste (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh lime juice (optional, brightens the flavor)
  • 4 to 6 ice cubes (more for a thicker, colder smoothie)
  • Pinch of salt (small but effective flavor booster)
  • Optional garnish: sliced guava, mint leaves, or a sprinkle of chia seeds

Method

  1. Prep the guava: Wash and slice the guavas. Scoop out the seeds if you prefer a smoother texture, then chop the flesh. If using very seedy guava, you can blend and strain later.
  2. Build the base: Add guava, yogurt, milk, banana (if using), and a pinch of salt to the blender.
  3. Sweeten and brighten: Add honey or agave to taste and a squeeze of lime juice if you like a tangy edge.
  4. Ice and blend: Add the ice and blend on high until smooth and creamy. If it looks too thick, splash in a little more milk.
  5. Adjust and refine: Taste and tweak the sweetness. For a silky texture with seedy guavas, strain through a fine-mesh sieve, then return to the blender for a quick pulse.
  6. Serve immediately: Pour into a chilled glass and garnish with mint or a slice of guava if you’re feeling fancy.
