Kaffir Lime Yogurt Bowl – Bright, Creamy, and Fresh

Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes
Servings: 2 servings

Ingredients

  • Plain Greek yogurt (whole milk preferred for extra creaminess), 1 cup
  • Kaffir lime leaves, 2 small fresh leaves or 1 large leaf
  • Lime zest, 1/2 teaspoon (optional, but boosts citrus flavor)
  • Honey or maple syrup, 1–2 teaspoons, to taste
  • Fresh fruit, 1/2–1 cup (mango, pineapple, blueberries, or kiwi work well)
  • Toasted coconut flakes, 1–2 tablespoons
  • Chopped nuts (pistachios, almonds, or cashews), 1–2 tablespoons
  • Seeds (chia, hemp, or pumpkin seeds), 1 teaspoon
  • Vanilla extract, a few drops (optional, rounds out the flavor)
  • Pinch of fine sea salt, to brighten everything
  • Fresh lime juice, 1–2 teaspoons (optional, for extra tang)

Method

  1. Prep the kaffir lime leaves. Remove the central vein from each leaf. Roll the halves together and slice into very fine shreds. You want small pieces so the flavor distributes evenly and the texture stays pleasant.
  2. Infuse the sweetener. In a small bowl, mix the honey or maple syrup with the shredded kaffir lime leaves. Let it sit for 2–3 minutes. This short rest helps release the aromatic oils.
  3. Build the yogurt base. In a larger bowl, stir together the Greek yogurt, a pinch of salt, lime zest, and vanilla (if using). If you like a looser texture, add a splash of water or milk to thin it slightly.
  4. Combine and taste. Drizzle in half of the infused honey and stir. Taste and add more until it’s just sweet enough for you. If you want extra brightness, squeeze in a teaspoon of lime juice.
  5. Top with fruit. Add your chosen fruit. Mango and blueberries give a lovely sweet-tart balance, but any ripe fruit works. Keep pieces bite-sized for easy eating.
  6. Add crunch. Sprinkle on toasted coconut, chopped nuts, and seeds. This brings texture and healthy fats that make the bowl more filling.
  7. Finish and serve. Drizzle the remaining infused honey over the top. If you have an extra kaffir lime leaf, add a tiny chiffonade for garnish. Eat right away.
