Spinach & Berry Blast - A Bright, Refreshing Smoothie You’ll Crave

Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes
Servings: 2 servings

Ingredients

  • Fresh baby spinach – 2 packed cups (about 60 g)
  • Mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries) – 1.5 cups, fresh or frozen
  • Banana – 1 small, ripe (fresh or frozen), for creaminess and sweetness
  • Greek yogurt or a dairy-free yogurt – 1/2 cup
  • Milk of choice (almond, oat, dairy, etc.) – 3/4 to 1 cup, depending on desired thickness
  • Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon, freshly squeezed
  • Chia seeds or ground flax – 1 tablespoon (optional, for fiber and omega-3s)
  • Honey or maple syrup – 1 to 2 teaspoons (optional, if you prefer it sweeter)
  • Ice – a handful if using fresh fruit and you want it extra cold

Method

  1. Add liquids first: Pour the milk into the blender. This helps the blades catch and blend smoothly.
  2. Layer the soft ingredients: Add yogurt, banana, and lemon juice. If you’re using a sweetener, add it now.
  3. Add the greens: Pack in the spinach. Baby spinach blends easily and has a mild flavor.
  4. Add berries and extras: Toss in the mixed berries and any seeds you’re using. If your fruit is fresh, add a few ice cubes.
  5. Blend until very smooth: Start low, then increase to high for 30–45 seconds. Scrape down the sides if needed and blend again.
  6. Taste and adjust: If it’s too thick, add a splash more milk. If you want it brighter, add a tiny bit more lemon. For extra sweetness, a drizzle of honey works well.
  7. Serve immediately: Pour into a chilled glass and enjoy while it’s cold and vibrant.
